Rocket Box “Kappa” ( my Rocket Box series is “numbered” with the Greek alphabet – this is #10).
Kappa is maple burl with dyed maple fins and finials. The nose cone (lid) attaches with magnets.
About 11-1/4″ tall with a 6″ “wing span”.




Eta is the seventh installment in my Rocket Box series. A little over 5-1/2″ tall. Maple burl with dyed maple legs and accents.
Eta is a shuttle that transports people and cargo between larger rockets or to the planet’s surface. (Passengers on Eta frequently ask about the shuttle’s ETA.)

Box Elder Burl with dyed maple lets, rings, finials. Lacquer finish.



Forth in my Rocket Box series.
Box Elder Burl, about 10″ tall overall, and the box is about 2.5″ diameter. Lacquer finish.
This one has a “secret compartment” on the bottom, held on with magnets.





Enjoyed making the first one, so had to do another.

Finish is lacquer.
This piece received an Instant Gallery Excellence Award at the 2024 AAW International Symposium.

This was fun and challenging to make.
