Rocket Box π (#16)

The retro style of the red rocket invokes memories of the classic red wagon, the Radio Flyer. My Radio Flyer was not just a wagon, but a race car, a pirate ship, a submarine, or a spacecraft.

This 10″ tall rocket is from Big Leaf Maple burl, dyed with black and red layers. The fins and finials are maple, dyed with India ink.

Kappa

Rocket Box “Kappa” ( my Rocket Box series is “numbered” with the Greek alphabet – this is #10).

Kappa is maple burl with dyed maple fins and finials. The nose cone (lid) attaches with magnets.

About 11-1/4″ tall with a 6″ “wing span”.

Eta is the seventh installment in my Rocket Box series. A little over 5-1/2″ tall. Maple burl with dyed maple legs and accents.

Eta is a shuttle that transports people and cargo between larger rockets or to the planet’s surface. (Passengers on Eta frequently ask about the shuttle’s ETA.)
