Festive Balloon
The balloon and base are turned from maple that’s been carved, burned (pyrography) and dyed. The basket is bocote.
The balloon and basket are held together with a brass tube, and a brass rod extends from the base through the tube. The balloon floats on opposing magnets located in the base and the basket.
About 6-3/4″ tall, 3-3/4″ diameter.
I’ll Wave As I Fly By
A sliced hot air balloon. Elm burl with walnut pewa and cap.
About 7-1/2″ tall, 5″ diameter.
