This balloon represents the diversity of all us people stuck together on planet Earth. Where ever you might fall in this spectrum, just be a good person (Soar!). I also hope this balloon will remind you that your fellow humans can also soar, even if they are soaring differently than you.
Around the middle of the balloon is a rainbow. Rainbows are part of many cultures, often representing peace, a covenant with God, cheerfulness, joy, and celebration. A rainbow flag was proposed during the American Revolutionary war to signify neutral ships. It is the background of the international peace flag. And since 1978, a rainbow flag has been a symbol of the LGBTQ movement. The LGBTQ flag has specific meanings attached to each color:
Red. – Life
Orange – Healing
Yellow – Sunlight
Green – Nature
Blue – Serenity
Violet – Spirit
Around the top of the balloon, there are symbols of some of our world’s religions.
Cross – Christianity
Star and Crescent – Islam
Taijitu – Taoism
Star of David – Judaism
Om – Hinduism
Wheel of Dharma – Buddhism
The wood used for the balloon represent 4 of our planet’s continents:
Cap – African Blackwood – Africa
Balloon – Maple – North America
Basket – Bacote – Mexico and South America
Base – Chinese Sumac – Asia
